Thank You!

The 5K came together nicely yesterday. I will post pictures and more details soon. For today I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who came and to all of our volunteers. Thank you to each of you for making it a success! We couldn't have done it without you.

Why a converted van?

Emylie's power wheelchair gives her independence. Currently Emylie's family does not have a vehicle capable to transport her powered wheelchair. So when the family goes places Emylie uses her manual wheelchair. Emylie quickly tires while using the manual chair and requests assistance (becoming more dependent) or if she is on her ventilator she becomes dependent again relying on her mom or another caregiver to walk alongside with her ventilator. Emylie's powered wheelchair will hold all of her equipment and allows her the ability to be as independent as possible in her mobility. Activities as simple as going to the grocery store with her mom or going to the park or zoo will be more likely and enjoyable for Emylie if she is able to go in her power chair. She also would have the ability to be picked up from school or checked out early instead of missing a full day because of appointments. There are so many possibilities a converted van will open up for Emylie.
